I would like to begin by thanking you for your patience and understanding last week as a result of the school closure days due to the weather. As I said in messages to you, we try to avoid closing school at all costs and it is always a last resort but we must take into account a variety of factors to ensure the health and safety of the whole school community. Despite the brief flurries yesterday, hopefully the worst weather is now behind us and we can look forward to a glorious, dry spring and summer. Last week did at least show that our procedures work effectively in terms of notifying parents. We use Parent Mail and Marvellous Me as some parents may have signed up to one but not the other and notifications will always be put on the home page of the school website. In addition to this, we will always notify Middlesbrough Local Authority and BBC Tees, however their updates may be slightly delayed or not as frequent. Once again, thank you for your cooperation.
We are currently going through some staffing changes as a result of promotion (Miss Lickess), retirements and maternity leave. Mrs Coe is currently our Acting Deputy Headteacher and will remain so until we appoint a new Deputy Headteacher to start in September 2018. The recruitment process for this post is underway and we hope to appoint before the Easter break. We will also be recruiting a new classroom teacher in the next few weeks, again to begin in September. During the summer term you may also see some other new faces – these will be teachers covering maternity leaves.
Have a great weekend, thank you for your ongoing support.
Mr M. Macaulay.
